On November 12th, we look forward to participating in the Olympic Gold Medal Plates competition. The Bacalao team won in 2012 and went on to represent Newfoundland at the Canadian Culinary Championships in Kelowna, BC. Chef Matt, Sous-Chef Nick and the team look forward to this year’s competition.

Bacalao has participated in Food Day Canada (August 1st, annually) since its inception in 2009. A celebration of local food across the country, it’s a natural fit for Bacalao, as we are hyper local every day of the year! We received a award for hyper-local cuisine in the first year and again in 2014! We participated again this year in the wonderful event at the Sheraton and featured a beautiful hyper-local prix-fixe menu (and wait to hear who won this year.)
For the fifth year in a row, Bacalao has been awarded the TripAdvisor Award of Excellence! This is awarded to restaurants that consistently rate 4½ stars out of five in guest reviews. We work hard to ensure every guest experience exceeds expectations and monitor all reviews and review sites to make sure we stay top of our game.
Bacalao has launched a new Lunch Menu! Along with other delicious new dishes, be sure to check out our new Smoked Scallop Salad, Greek-style salt cod dish, hearty Moose Bolognese and for the first time, Bacalao does Poutine! Try our gorgeous homemade chicken gravy and Five Brothers cheese curds over our hand cut fries. Tell your server, “Poutine me, b’y!” and we will make your fries into delicious poutine!
